The Margin hopes to fill a role in snowboarding.

Long stories. Stories from overlooked places. Marginalized stories.

Snowboarding is lucky to have the media it has. Through budget cuts and changing landscapes, they continue to make snowboarding what it is.

In magazines, room for advertisements and photos doesn’t always leave room for all the details.

As magazines are forced to reduce how many issues run per year, the number of pages per issue, or fold entirely, long stories, photo essays, investigative reporting, and exhaustive interviews don’t always make the cut.

We felt there was a need for a place where telling long stories wasn’t just permitted, but encouraged.

So here we are. We’re not here to scoop anyone. We’re not here to replace the mags. We’re just here to tell the stories we felt need to be told.

We don’t have a copy editor. We don’t have a graphic design team. We don’t have any money. But we do have a lot to say.
